The Ever Confusing Loss of Innocence.

So my mum and dad have always refused to take my brother and I to Disney Land/ Disney World, a problem that I have have always resented. Fortunately, I have the opportunity to visit Disney World with my friend and her family (my second family. <3) and I mentioned that there were a couple of  points I would like to bring to the princesses' attention, mainly just to see their reactions.

When asked to elaborate, I expressed my urge to approach Ariel and ask if she was aware of the fact that if she were to run away with a boy she only knew for three days at the age of sixteen that she'd probably end up dead.

For some reason, she said that it was extremely inappropriate and that she'd hit me if I did so. I don't see anything wrong with that, but I do see how that could possibly ruin the innocence of many a five year old...But still, they should learn that it's not okay to run off with boys they don't know. AND, I really would like to see what Ariel's response would be.

Similarly, I'd like to ask Aroura why she ran off with a boy who basically date raped her and stalked her beforehand, and ask Belle  why she married a guy who clearly was abusive, etc.

The Creative Works of Fran: A History

While I've always had a very strong fondness for writing, I've always ended up totally flaking on it in the end. I wrote a story on a young adults literacy website that had a small following, but it always ended up seeming like a chore. I ended hating all of the characters, and I wanted them all to die. So, I abandoned it, only to return to it months later. No wonder I hated it so much! The writing truly was weak, and  it was like so much of the crap I'd read on the site before! The male lead had Edward Cullen-ish tendencies to show up in the female lead's bedroom whilst she was sleeping....he WAS her guardian angel ....but still, it was seriously creepy. The story just wasn't well thought out, and when I tried to fix it I  hated the characters even more than I originally did! I still wanted to kill off the lead, and make sure that the bad guy succeeded, and I definitely did NOT want the guardian angel dude to earn his proverbial wings, and I did NOT want him to ever pass through the pearly gates of heaven EVER again!

So, I did what the next author would do. Try to find some inspiration, and get back on the horse. I did this by writing a valentine's day typed story very, very, VERY loosely based off of things that had happened to me during my week at school during Valentine's day. Or what I wished could have happened except way less dramatic, and much less 14A rated.  It was called Hush. I made my main character based off of what I wished I looked like, ( ie. Tall,, skinny, darker hair, green eyes, a tattoo, eyebrow peircing, and too many band tshirts and American Apparel hoodies...), and made her love interest based off of a way nicer version of the guy I had a (EXTREMELY) minute crush on. Yeah. Never again will I turn a character into what I want to be. I ended up not liking her very much, and although I lived semi vicariously through her, I ended up trashing the story...

The next story I tried to write, was pretty awesome, at first, and although I can't remember anything about my main character, I remember making her get wasted off of Vodka and Juice, and i remember basing the love interest off of this total hottie from my math class, and I definitely remember that my favourite three characters were thoroughly based off of Gabe Saporta and Alex Suarez from Cobra Starship, except they were from Toronto, and they were both 16.... anyway, I abandoned that one because I had no idea where to go with it.

Have you noticed the main flaw of all my "novels" I mentioned? In every single one, I abandoned the plot. I either started to hate the characters, or I had no idea what on earth to do, so I ditched it.


I haven't tried writing anything since the Vodka and Juice Disaster, and I get the sense that I can't write about real people. So my character will have to be completely made up in this new short story type thing I plan on doing this summer. Her personality is very loosely based off of one of my favourite teachers, and is actually inspired by a story of her's. I'm really excited, and hopefully I don't flake....

On a lighter note, may I just add that I reaaaaalllllly wish I had a friend like Holden Caulfield  because he sounds like  my cup of tea? Also, I would like to add that I think Sammich should add World Religion to its list of classes for seniors because I would love to take it. Who cares if its a public school? If we can have an interschool Cristian fellowship, we should be able to have a World Religion class.....
